Your mental health journey is like learning to ride a bike- no one truly knows how at first. With practice, patience, and support, you can confidently navigate every hill and valley life brings. Together, we’ll build the skills to keep moving forward, no matter the terrain.
I meet clients where they’re at and work collaboratively as a team to set and achieve therapeutic goals, creating a clear path toward living their best life.
What you can expect of me is honesty, integrity, strong ethics, sincerity, and a good sense of humor to help make the process engaging and supportive.
As your therapist, I’ll help you learn and grow as a person, support improvements in your mental performance, and be a compassionate listening ear and shoulder to lean on when you need it.
I view therapy as a true team effort where both the client and I invest equally in the process. It’s important to me to meet you exactly where you are, with openness and without judgment, so we can build trust and collaborate effectively. I focus on teaching practical skills that empower you to thrive, not just cope. I believe mental health care isn’t about applying a single modality or checking boxes- it requires flexibility and personalization tailored to your unique needs and experiences. Together, we’ll explore what works best for you and adjust our approach as needed. Ultimately, my goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and equipped to make meaningful progress toward your goals.
I balance being supportive with appropriately challenging clients by making accountability the cornerstone of our sessions. I believe that while we can’t control everything in life, we can control ourselves- our emotions, our actions, and our responses. Taking ownership of this can be a major hurdle, but it’s also a powerful step toward growth. I provide encouragement and a safe space for clients to explore their challenges, while also gently pushing them to take responsibility and practice new skills. I often use the analogy of learning to ride a bike: progress comes with practice, patience, and sometimes falling before we get steady. This balance of support and challenge helps clients build resilience and confidence to navigate life’s ups and downs.
My specialized training that most influences my work is in sport psychology. Having spent much of my life as an athlete, I approach therapy through a somewhat “untraditional” lens. One that values hard work, perseverance, and pushing yourself to be the best you can be, even when it’s tough. I understand the mental and emotional challenges that come with striving for peak performance, and I bring that insight into my therapeutic work. I believe therapy, like sport, is a team effort. Together, we work toward your goals, celebrating growth along the way while building resilience and strength to keep moving forward.
My background gives me unique insight into mental performance across diverse areas like sports, business, military, and performing arts. Coupled with my training in exercise science, I emphasize the vital connection between caring for the body and improving mental health. This holistic perspective allows me to support clients in enhancing both physical well-being and psychological resilience for lasting growth.
My expertise is particularly valuable for individuals who are motivated to improve their lives through dedicated effort, those seeking to enhance their mental health by focusing on physical well-being, and anyone struggling with emotional regulation or eating habits. I work best with clients ready to engage actively in their growth and open to integrating mind-body strategies to create sustainable change.

People are often surprised to learn that, while I come off as a sports enthusiast or jock, I have a strong creative side. I really enjoy the performing arts, especially theater and musicals. I love learning new voice impressions just for fun. I’m also a big nerd when it comes to comics, anime, and video games. It’s a side of me that balances out the competitive, athletic part of who I am.
During college, I struggled with depression and performance anxiety as a student-athlete. I felt isolated, unable to open up to my parents, friends, or coaches, and I didn’t know where to turn. Eventually, I made the decision to go to counseling, and it was life-changing. It gave me tools, perspective, and, most importantly, a safe space to feel heard without judgment. That experience made me realize how powerful counseling can be, especially within the athletic community where mental health is often overlooked or stigmatized. I chose this profession because I want to be the person I needed back then; someone who understands, supports, and helps others navigate challenges that can feel overwhelming and lonely.
My background in exercise science drives my interest in the mind-body connection, especially in sport and performance settings. I stay current through ongoing education in applied sport psychology and mental performance, integrating strategies that connect physical habits: sleep, exercise, and recovery with emotional regulation and focus. This holistic approach helps clients build sustainable mental skills both in and out of session.
I’m most passionate about working with young adults, adolescents, and student-athletes, especially those navigating high-performance environments. I enjoy supporting individuals who are motivated to improve their lives through intentional work, whether that’s developing mental skills, improving emotional regulation, addressing men’s issues, or building healthier habits around eating and movement. I’m particularly drawn to helping those who recognize the connection between physical and mental health and want to grow through that intersection.
Growing up and working in New Mexico and Texas exposed me to diverse cultures, including Latinx, Native American, Hispanic, European, African American, and Asian communities in both rural and metropolitan areas. These experiences have helped me appreciate the unique values and functions within each culture. I approach each client with openness, curiosity, and a commitment to cultural humility. I see it as my responsibility to remain aware, continue learning, and advocate for the type of experience each client needs, meeting them where they are and finding common ground in the therapeutic relationship.
When I’m not in therapy sessions, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. Some of my favorite activities include snowboarding, wake surfing, hiking, fishing, and hunting. I’m also a big fan of sports (woah, shocker!). When I’m home, you’ll usually find me hanging out with my German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, who keeps me on my toes and brings a lot of joy to my everyday life.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Exercise Science from Wayland Baptist University, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling from Eastern New Mexico University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New Mexico and have been practicing since 2022. My educational background reflects my passion for understanding both the psychological and physical aspects of wellness. My clinical experience includes working with treatment foster care populations, facilitating outdoor wellness programs for active-duty Air Force members, and serving as a mental health counselor in a unique university setting. These diverse roles have given me the opportunity to support clients from various cultural, developmental, and socioeconomic backgrounds, each with their own goals and challenges. I value the chance to walk alongside individuals as they work toward personal growth and mental wellness and aim to integrate a holistic, client-centered approach into every session.
Working in a university counseling center has deeply shaped my current practice. I’ve supported students facing a wide range of concerns—from mild anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues to more complex challenges like childhood trauma and borderline personality disorder. This setting also allowed me to work with elite collegiate athletic teams, helping them improve both performance and overall mental health, through individual sessions and team-based interventions. Additionally, my work with the Air Force exposed me to the unique needs of service members and reinforced the critical connection between physical and mental health. These diverse experiences have taught me to adapt my approach to fit each client’s goals and background, whether they are seeking performance enhancement, emotional regulation, or support through major life transitions. Each setting has helped me grow as a counselor and deepened my commitment to holistic, culturally aware, and client-driven care.
I’m currently pursuing certification in applied sport psychology (CMPC) while providing mental performance training to college-level sports teams. This work focuses on enhancing mindset, resilience, and performance both individually and at the team level. I also lead Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for schools, businesses, and community groups to raise awareness and equip people with the tools to respond to mental health situations- similar to how CPR prepares someone for physical health emergencies. These projects reflect my passion for both performance psychology and community mental health education.
Beyond direct client care, my professional goals focus on breaking the stigma around mental health- especially in populations where expressing emotions is often discouraged. I aim to show that there’s a mental health professional for everyone. I’m especially passionate about challenging the idea in the sports world that athletes must always be “mentally strong” and shouldn’t talk about their struggles. My work helps normalize support and self-awareness in high-performance spaces.
When working with me, you can expect person-centered care at the core of every session. We’ll start with an intake to get to know each other and develop a treatment plan- a roadmap to guide our work together. From there, we’ll explore what brings you in and begin building skills while addressing stressors. Some sessions may focus on immediate challenges, while others will be dedicated to making progress on your long-term goals. Flexibility and collaboration are key.
My approach to treatment planning reflects my overall view of mental health- a team effort. I may suggest SMART goals, but we decide together what progress looks like and how to get there. Goals are flexible and can be adjusted as needed. We’ll typically reevaluate every 2–4 weeks to assess short-term progress, and every 6 weeks or as needed for long-term goals. Whether we reach those goals or shift focus, the process is always collaborative and client-driven.
Between sessions, I encourage clients to practice the skills we’ve worked on and take time to reflect. Reflection is a powerful tool for growth when used to learn rather than self-criticize. Consistent practice of coping strategies between sessions helps strengthen your mental health foundation. Each skill adds to the toolbox we use to build a more resilient, grounded version of yourself. Progress happens in the work we do both in and outside of session.
