The quote that guides my practice and how I show up with clients is…

A Medicine Woman’s Prayer by: Sheree Bliss Tilsley

I will not rescue you, For you are not powerless.

I will not fix you, For you are not broken.

I will not heal you, For I see you, in your wholeness.

I will walk with you through the darkness, As you remember your light.

The core belief that drives my practice is…

Self awareness can only take us so far. The goal then of deep healing work isn’t about knowing more, it is about becoming more.

The words clients have used to describe me and how I show up in my work is…

Nurturing, creative, kind, smart, persevering, brilliant, insightful, structured, organized, uplifting, motherly, soulful, present, attuned, comforting, encouraging

  • When we work together you can expect genuine caring and authentic engagement. This means I prioritize building safety, rapport, and attunement from our first interactions so that we have a strong foundation and safe container to work from. Although very rewarding and life-changing, deep healing and personal growth work is challenging, can be painful, and is often destabilizing. It requires us to show up with bravery and perseverance, but to do that means there needs to be trust and confidence in order to open up and have honest communication and willingness to engage. My job as your partner in this process is to help you come back to yourself because you already have all that you need within you—your inner wisdom, confidence, joyfulness, playfulness, creativity—to help you feel empowered and fully embodied. I am here to help you remember it, find it, tap into it, and connect back with it.

  • I do this by showing up with love, dedication, commitment to your goals and values, insightful questions, gentle challenging, pointing out patterns and self-sabotage, body tracking and scanning, emotion identification and expression, personalized interventions, psychoeducation, helping you build new tools, and cheering you on every step of the way. I will sit with you in your sorrow. I will celebrate you in your victories. I will reflect back to you your strengths when you struggle to see them and I will encourage you to step outside of your comfort zones (because that is where the good stuff happens!). I will hear your feedback and hurt if I am guiding you down the wrong path or have disappointed you or let you down, and I will work to rebuild your trust and take responsibility when I have made a mistake. I will hold you accountable when you need it and I will ask that you show up and communicate honestly, especially when it is hard and uncomfortable. I will not lead, because you already know the way, but I will walk with you on this journey as long as you are committed to your healing path and I will help you come home to yourself and gain the clarity you seek in a way you may not have known was possible. We are not meant to go this journey alone. Let us walk this path together…

  • I help clients create change by going beyond their insights and awareness. I help them learn to identify their emotions and triggers as signals, inner voices, and attempts to communicate which, when understood, can help drive behavior changes and how we show up and engage in relationships and life. If we stop at insight and awareness, we can identify that we are triggered or have been hurt, but if that awareness isn’t followed by healthy action (not avoidance, deflection, or conflict) then we stay activated, in unhealthy patterns, or we stay in victim mode where the responsibility is put on someone else to fix or make us feel better, which perpetuates unhealthy, unsatisfying, and unfulfilling cycles, relationships, and choices. This is where so many people get stuck. Change comes from learning new tools and using them. I give clients the opportunity to learn, question, explore, and try out new ways of communicating, processing, experiencing, seeing, and expressing themselves.

  • I help them find their authentic voice, embrace all Parts of themselves (IFS work), and give them a place to experience how to show up differently for themselves and others. We do this by learning about the impacts of trauma on our nervous system, health, and mental health as well as how these early experiences shape our templates (how we view ourselves, others, and the world); we explore intergenerational trauma and the power of ancestral healing to change familial patterns; we learn about emotions and what they are communicating to us, how to be with them (all of them), and how to express them safely and effectively; we learn new tools for releasing energy, communicating our limits, needs, and boundaries; we explore attachment and relationships; we do personality exploration and personal growth work.

  • We use various evidence-based and holistic modalities to explore how the lens shapes our views and how we approach the work; we create change by using creative (art, music, writing), mindfulness-based (here-and-now), nature-oriented (plant medicine, forest bathing, gardening, the seasons, etc.), breathwork, and mind-body-spirit aligned interventions to build skills and tools; we peel back layers, dig deep, process and work through obstacles, negative beliefs, and challenges as they arise, and we do it all with non-judgment, love, compassion, patience, safety, and authenticity throughout.

  • In my humble opinion and from my years of experience not only as a therapy client but also as a therapist, educator, and clinical supervisor, traditional therapy and western medicine can only take us so far down the healing path. Medication is often the first (and unfortunately for so many, ends up being the only) line of defense when symptoms feel unmanageable, but they are not, nor should they be (except in extreme cases) a long-term solution or a ‘fix’. They are just a temporary tool, like a bandage that protects the wound so real healing can have the space and protection it needs to happen. So much in our culture is about quick fixes, avoidance of pain and discomfort, and using labels (including diagnosis) as an excuse. There is nothing inherently wrong with needing medication or wanting to know what diagnosis you are struggling with, but if that is where therapy or the effort stops, healing is not likely to happen.

  • It’s what we do with the reprieve or reduction in symptoms and what we do with the knowledge of our diagnosis and how we use these in therapy that matters most. I hear so often of clients not feeling “helped” by their previous therapist(s), or feeling like they understand themselves better but still feel ‘stuck’, but on the flip side of that, I often hear therapists complaining about burnout and irritation/frustration with clients ‘just coming into their session and ‘dumping’ or complaining about the ‘same things’ week after week (and in some cases month after month or year after year). How frustrating and disheartening for both parties, but it speaks to the bigger issue of a system that is broken and limited in what it is able to offer if everyone keeps showing up in the same old way.

  • If we want a different result (from our healing, from the mental health field, from therapy) we all have to show up differently and be willing to step outside of our comfort zones and the boxes we have been functioning in. Real and deep healing requires active engagement, effort, discomfort, safety, encouragement, trust, perseverance, and dedication from all parties involved.

  • Have already done therapy or other healing work and are looking to integrate their insights, experiences, awareness and momentum to turn them into actionable and meaningful change. This means they are looking for new tools and skills, will take recommendations, feedback and insights with an open mind and heart; are willing to try new things and do assigned homework; are able to sit with difficult emotions and trust themselves and their capacity; are ready to put the work in to move towards deeper connection with self, more embodied existence, authentic connection, and use the therapeutic relationship to be a safe and supportive container to come back to themselves and their purpose.

  • For couples I primarily work with heterosexual and heteroflexible couples mostly wanting to explore various elements of kink (ethical non-monogamy, swinging, bdsm, etc) and/or are needing to explore issues around lack of connection and intimacy. I also have supported clients struggling with parenting and navigating blended family issues, fertility issues, adoption and general life transition stressors. In my individual therapy work I most often see Cis gendered females; often (but not always) bisexual or lesbian; sexually open minded but sometimes struggling with intimacy issues or permission around owning/embracing their sexual desires, needs and or pleasure; Most are college graduates, intellectual, spiritually open (ascribe to various forms of spiritual practices, witchy, nature-based reverence, tarot & oracle card users;) Are open to and enjoy utilizing Non-traditional, holistic & integrative therapy techniques (Influenced by Eastern Medicine traditions, Breathwork & meditation, Indigenous healing practices, etc); Nature oriented ; Creatives (writing, music, photography, crafty, theater, poetry, journaling, dance, etc); Body oriented (dance, yoga, somatic and energetically aware); Loving, caring and intuitive souls.

  • Are utilizing psychedelics to heal and need support in preparing and integrating that work they are doing; Are individuals or couples exploring kink, ethical non-monogamy, sexual exploration, finding their sense of pleasure and playfulness and/or confidence around sex and intimacy; Those needing support around Grief & Bereavement or end of life Existential crisis; Working with individuals living with Invisible Pain/Illness around quality of life and advocacy support; and/or clients who are doing deep personal growth, personality exploration, identity exploration (who am I and what do I want for my life?), and finding their authentic voice and their way back to their own innate inner wisdom and life purpose.

  • I love deep and insight-based questions and exploration in the getting to know you phase at the beginning of therapy. I will ask questions about your family and past history, your previous experiences with therapy or other healing, your learning style, communication and conflict resolution styles, exploring areas about your spiritual or religious beliefs, personal values, life and personal goals, resilience stories, emotion regulation, Parts work, current self-care and support systems, sexual identity and relationship with your body, intimacy, expressing needs/desires, personality style, personal care and hygiene, limitations, current struggles/challenges (where are things feeling stuck, stagnant or dysfunctional), creative outlets, and current goals for therapy work (to start).

  • As therapy progresses, I will start to draw on other interventions and modalities like Eastern medicine techniques like The Finger Hold (for releasing emotions), tapping, breathwork, guided imagery and meditation, aromatherapy, art and creative processing techniques, music, journaling, creative writing, tarot, oracle and projection cards, and more. I will utilize tools like the Enneagram and other Personality Assessments for personal growth and exploration, various psychoeducation tools, homework, Parts work, here-and-now exercises, body scans, emotion identification and regulation skills and techniques, communication skills building, reflective listening and any other tools or modalities I feel could be helpful for my clients. At the later and end of therapy work there is often more reflection, measuring successes and milestones, supporting and encouraging, holding accountable and reminding of skills learned and practicing them, cheerleading, and putting the client back in the driver’s seat of their own sessions and life.

  • In the early days of my career I was a chronic over-functioner. If there was something a client needed or was struggling with, I would take it upon myself to go research it, look into it, find it, try to fix it or have the answer for it, etc. In my naivete this felt like caring, and helping and fueled a ‘Part’ of me that wanted to feel needed and helpful. The reality was though that it took agency and skills building opportunities away from my clients and ended up adding way more work and responsibility onto my plate which lead to feelings of burnout and resentment. I have done a lot of my own work since then, however, and know that I am enough by just showing up with openness, care and compassion and that it is my job to help clients maintain their own agency and give them opportunities to grow and do hard things themselves because this is how we build resilience and confidence. In general, I went from taking the lead in the therapeutic relationship to walking beside my clients.

  • That insight into our wounds, triggers and sources of pain are only the beginning of the healing journey and unfortunately is where many of us stop in traditional therapy.

Healing those wounds, finding peace, freedom and flexibility within ourselves requires deep levels of self trust and comes from getting reconnected to our innate inner healing wisdom, building emotional resilience, embracing all of our emotions and Parts, learning new tools/skills and building our capacity to weather the storms of our lives.

Self awareness can only take us so far. The goal then of deep healing work isn’t about knowing more, it is about becoming more.

  • In every way. My life experiences have shaped every facet of who I am and how I show up in everything I do—for better and for worse. I have struggled with abandonment issues having been born the result of teen pregnancy and was raised by grandparents that loved me in their own way, but also saw me as an unwelcome obligation. I struggled with anxiety in a chaotic household and developed trichotillomania at seven years old and suffered years of severe bullying due to it. I was a professional singer by the age of nine and saw perfectionism and talent as the only way to get love, attention, and approval and have struggled to unlearn this and find value in all of me. I did not know my birth father most of my life and struggled with attention seeking, self-sabotage, and struggled for years in school being labeled ‘creative but not bright/smart’ due to struggling grades.

  • I was diagnosed in high school with ADD and three Learning Disabilities as well as anxiety and depression which I have worked very hard to heal and learn from and about. It wasn’t until I was in college that I figured out how my brain functions and learns and I began to thrive in school for the first time through extraordinary effort, diligence, and work. Not only did I graduate with a B.A. and an M.A. but I graduated at the top of my class and was the International Honor Societies President of my University. Having been told I didn’t have what it took to do higher education and no family support or encouragement, this is an achievement I am very proud of. I also found love and have been happily married for eighteen years to my best friend and adopted my stepdaughter whom I helped raise since she was seven years old.

  • I have struggled with health issues, infertility, significant death and loss, family dysfunction, blended family stress and co-parenting involving courts, intergenerational traumas and found my way, somehow, to psychedelic healing and IFS Parts work which have both changed my life in the deepest and most profound ways. I bring all of this and all that I am as well as all that I am becoming to my work with others who are struggling to navigate life, family, relationships, personal limitations, wounds, beliefs, and pain. I am here. I see you and I will walk beside you as we take this journey together.

  • That I will always see the best in you, the light you may have dimmed, the possibility, the hope, the skills, the victories, the resilience, the potential, the achievements, the capacity even when you do not and I will be here to reflect them back to you until you can see them all too. I will also always work hard with you and show up but I ask that you do the same. It is not easy work, but when we share the load we can do anything.

  • That I am and have been in pain for most of my life. I don’t look disabled or like I am suffering to most people but I was born with calf muscles that are too short (which has led to severe plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis), and was born with a condition called Haglund’s Deformity in my heels which causes mobility issues and extreme feet and leg pain; fibromyalgia; heart issues; endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, chronic headaches and migraines, chronic fatigue and immune issues. I have had many surgeries, was infertile and have limited capacity. Despite these things, however, I completed my higher education, have a rewarding career, and have spent the last seven years traveling full-time with my husband. We spent two years pre-covid traveling to more than 25 countries and 48 cities around the globe and then from covid on we have been digital nomads traveling around the U.S. and Canada in an RV seeing as much of this incredible world as we could soak up. Despite my pain and health conditions I have made a commitment to live life on my terms and to experience as much beauty, life and adventure as I possibly can.

  • Forest bathing and hiking with my husband; gardening; my witchy spiritual practices; singing and making music; tonal chakra clearing; smudging and cleansing practices; cooking; reading and watching a good movie; crafty and creative projects; travel; and learning new things

  • Like so many that find their way to this work, my own family’s struggle with addiction and mental illness along with my own mental health journey inspired my career path. The ‘wounded healer’ is a term we throw around a lot in the mental health and wellness fields but there is so much truth there. It is often because of our pain and struggles that so many of us feel called to want to support others struggling. I have always been a highly sensitive, empathic and intuitive person, which on one hand I think has left me more vulnerable to suffering and the difficulties life has thrown at me, but on the other hand, these qualities are also beautiful gifts that help me connect and understand other people’s experiences more deeply and fully. They allow me to hold great compassion and allow me to genuinely connect with others and relate.

  • Seven years ago my husband and I sold almost everything we owned and decided to travel the world. For two years we traveled to more than 26 countries and over 45 cities around the globe and for the last five we bought an RV and have spent that time traveling all over the United States and Canada seeing as much as we could. Travel has been a game changer and great teacher for so many reasons. It opened my eyes to other cultures, foods, customs, belief systems, political systems, made history come alive and showed me the struggles other people live with, grow up with and navigate daily. It also showed me the value in sharing (like music and food) experiences, talking with others that don’t believe what I believe, and showed me the resilience of the human spirit. It showed me the value of finding peace and freedom in having less and traveling light (we are often so burdened down with things in the U.S. and acquiring more rather than experiencing more and finding gratitude and knowing we have ‘enough’). Travel also taught me the invaluable gift of finding ‘home’ and a sense of belonging inside of myself rather than that feeling needing to come from something external. That lesson took almost a year for me to really feel/get but it has been game changing. I have much more flexibility and calm now that I feel more centered and grounded within myself.

Another huge influence is my experiences with my clients which have and continue to shape my practice as they are the greatest teachers I have ever known- The way they show up or struggle to show up; the bravery and courage they have to show up for themselves in this work is deeply inspiring; the mistakes I have made and the way we navigate disappointment, pushing too hard or too fast, finding the right pace, doing rift repair work, finding new and creative ways to process traumas that have been suppressed or ignored; the way they show such deep trust with me; the way they give themselves permission to be their authentic self; the way they persevere when change feels destabilizing but they trust themselves and the process instead of running away. All of these and for so many other reasons my clients are what help shape my practice.

Lastly, my own personal healing journey and work with plant medicines has been one of the biggest catalysts and influences in the last few years and has completely changed how I show up for myself, those I interact with and how I do healing work with others. One of the core tenants of psychedelic healing is the concept of ‘innate inner healing wisdom’ and the role of Facilitators in this work is a ‘non-directive’ approach, meaning the Facilitator is not there to give insights, impressions, advice or to guide the healing experience at all- they are there to create a safe container, show up with non-judgement for whatever unfolds, show up with care and compassion, and support you in doing your own healing work. The Preparation work that has to be done before going into the medicine and the Integration work after are actually the hardest part because that is where we have to learn to come back to ourselves, trust our inner wisdom, trust the process, surrender to the experience and make meaning and integrate our learnings with meaningful changes after. It is the hardest work I have ever done and it has been the most meaningful and profound. What I have learned and continue to learn from this work directly influences and shapes my work as a Therapist, Supervisor, and Facilitator.

  • Empathic, compassionate, authentic, creative, warm, caring, kind, insightful, warm, open, ethical, skilled, non-judgemental, unwavering presence, able to make clients feel seen, heard and supported fully, reflective, grounded energy, soulful presence, able to speak to client’s heart and higher self, heart-centered, nurturing, inspiring, and have radiant embodiment of the divine feminine.

  • Sex & Kink Positive
  • Chronic Pain & Invisible Illness & Disability
  • Psychedelic Healing Advocate
  • I am very passionate about advocating for sex positivity for everyone but especially for women struggling to embrace, explore and express their sexual desires and needs around intimacy and pleasure. I also have a special love for the kink community and those that feel they fall outside of the normative relationship and sexual boxes. I have been working for ten years on a book specifically exploring these populations and hope to publish that soon. Having been raised Catholic (though I do not identify as such now) I had a lot of hangups about sex, intimacy and relationships and although I am bisexual and consider myself to be very open and non-judgemental, this was not an area of my sexuality I ever felt safe exploring before settling into my marriage. In my book and in my therapy and coaching work I love supporting people exploring and embracing all facets of their sexuality, kink and relationship dynamics.

I am also deeply passionate about advocating for those with invisible pain, illness and disabilities. With years of lived experience I know how difficult it can be to navigate a world that can not see your pain and struggle and may resent or push back on your needs and limits. Navigating a complex medical system and finding the right mental health support and community are critical in long term management and care.

Lastly, I am very passionate about the psychedelic healing movement. Having come to this particular facet of healing later in my life and career I know I personally had to work through A LOT of personal biases and stigmas around psychedelics and their potential for healing but I am out of the psychedelic closet and a firm believer in their capacity to help heal deep soul wounds and intergenerational traumas. I have participated in conferences, completed multiple training prgrams, have sat with several medicines, done deep preparation and integration work and have even participated in the Oregon’s Rule Advisory Committee to help try to advocate from the inside as various states attempt to navigate this new world of healing potential. There were many injustices imposed on vulnerable populations in the past, years of misinformation and lies provided and now generations of scared/fearful people who don’t know if they can trust themselves or this ‘new healing trend’. The reality, however, is that this is not new. It is old healing; ancient healing; sacred healing that indigenous elders and peoples have been utilizing for hundreds and even thousands of years. The Western World is only just now embracing it. We have much to learn from our indigenous brethren and wisdom keepers and this work needs to be moved forward with great respect for these people and their medicines, as well as with great care and emphasis on ethics and safety. I will continue to advocate for these plant medicines because I believe in their deep wisdom and capacity to heal within therapeutic and healing work.

  • The sad truth is that I was not raised with a strong cultural identity, likely due to the fact that I came from what used to be called a ‘broken home’ (how sad is that language?!) with multiple generations of divorce, child abandonment and a legacy of children being something that ‘happened to you’ not something that was planned for, wanted and cherished. My birth mother was abandoned by her mother and mine was unable to care for me having gotten pregnant just out of high school. I was raised by grandparents who were not in touch with their own ancestry and I had a very limited relationship with my birth father. It wasn’t until I was in my Masters program to become a therapist over a decade ago that I was asked to complete a cultural genogram which ended up being a profound and meaningful exercise because I learned about my ancestors and my heritage. I learned I had not only white European ancestry, Including links to the Warrior leader Bodica, but also had Spanish and Native American connections- I found out from my father that I am an 1/8th Cherokee. Learning these things were like having several pieces of my spirit click into place. I felt like it explained why I was so deeply connected to the Seasons and the Earth; to stewardship, to indigenous views on Spirituality, community/tribe, tattoos and body adornment, fire and even certain types of music. Although he and his mother were not tribe affiliated, it has sparked a desire in me to know this part of myself more deeply and accept these parts of myself that made me ‘different’ from my Mother’s side of the family. I was able to see, appreciate and honor all of these various parts of my lineage and understand that at least some of the pain I carry is not even mine- it is my ancestors’ pain.

It is because of this personal experience and journey that I approach culture with my clients with deep reverence, care, and with curiosity and openness. I do not make assumptions based on someone’s appearance as to what their experience may be and instead ask questions about what it means to them and how it shapes, impacts and influences their lives and their healing journey. I think using tools like a cultural genogram can be very helpful, enlightening and powerful in exploring these things and how it shapes our families and lives.

I am also very mindful and aware of the power that psychedelics, spirituality, and other alternative healing methods can help people tap into, connect with, and heal ancestral and lineage based intergenerational traumas and wounds. This can be profoundly powerful when people are ready, willing and able to go deep in their healing.

  • I love gardening and cooking yummy food! For grounding I also love forest bathing, hikes, kayaking, and making music. I find getting my hands and feet in and on the earth to be the most restorative and calming to my nervous system and the most grounding. Music feels like medicine to my soul so that is often a go-to to either listen or make music if I am needing to connect with myself or to spirit.

  • As I have mentioned previously, I love getting out in nature, making and enjoying yummy food, and music, but some other things that I love and enjoy are live theater and music, animals (of all kinds!), watching movies, doing crafty things like jewelry making, making aromatherapy products, crafting smudging fans, making mandalas, coloring and writing, berry picking, working on my alter, witchy things, making floral arrangement, doing my nails, having friends and family over for food I have prepared, decorating, doing my tarot cards and journaling, playing cards or board games with my husband, and last but not least traveling. My husband and I have spent the last 7 years traveling all over the world, the U.S. and Canada. We have been to more than 27 countries, 17 States and more than 60 cities in the last seven years and it has been a wild, crazy, challenging, soul stretching, beautiful, eye opening, exhausting, cup filling, and amazing adventure. Travel has been one of the greatest teachers and has forever changed me.

  • That although I am very outgoing, engaging, chatty and social when I am in social situations I am actually much more of an introvert by nature and prefer quiet, solitary activities and am content to lay in a hammock reading or watching a movie

  • I have an AA with an emphasis in Child Development; a BA in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy

  • I have advanced training and experience in: I have completed over 350 hours of training in Psychedelic Facilitation and Ketamine Assisted Therapy; Trauma Informed Care (over 200 hours of advanced training and experience); Grief & Bereavement; am certified in Crisis Intervention for Domestic Violence, Rape & Sexual Assault; am Certified Wellness Clinician for utilizing Aromatherapy therapeutically; have over thirty years of experience as a professional singer and integrate music into my work as well as Sound Healing experience; over 40 hours of training in IFS; I am also in the final stages of publishing my first book (a ten year project) where I have extensively researched, interviewed, worked with and played with various elements of Kink, Sex & Intimacy- I see this as a specialty and passion of mine (sexual liberation).

I also have additional training in Outdoor Education and Ecology; Acceptance & Commitment Therapy; Relational Psychodynamics; DBT/CBT; Seeking Safety; Attachment; Using the Enneagram For Personal Growth & Healing; Music In Psychedelic Healing; Ethics; Mindfulness; Healing the Healer; Sand Tray Therapy; Somatic and Energy Work; and Indigenous Healing Practices

  • Approximately two years ago I stepped into a new role and completed the required training so I could become a Clinical Supervisor which felt like the next step in my career. I have many years of experience in Education and this felt like an honoring of the value I hold around quality training and supporting the new generation of therapists coming into this field.

Another new area of this work that I am stepping into over the last couple of years also speaks to the second part of the question regarding evaluating and integrating new approaches into my work. With Psychedelic healing becoming more and more of a hot topic in the mental health field and knowing a number of talented Facilitators I dove into training and personal healing work about three years ago to see what the hype was all about. I spent one year doing deep Preparation work- learning about the history of Psychedelics and healing, attending conferences, doing shadow and trauma work, exploring my own spirituality, and committing to stepping into my own healing with integrity, trust and safety. After this deep dive I have sat with several Master Plant teachers and have co-facilitated several powerful retreats and personal healing experiences. I now know what all the fuss is about. It has been life altering and from a career perspective, it has been game changing. Learning about and experiencing holding space, therapeutic touch, consent, boundaries, energy clearing, somatics and release, ego dissolution, Parts work, authentic voice, inner healing wisdom, indigenous rituals and practice, alters, honoring the ancestors, spirits and the wisdom keepers, music, mandalas, breathwork, and all of the various pieces that go into the magic of this work has changed everything for me and how I show up in this work. It has also pointed out to me the gaps in my training and experience and is continuing to inspire my path and healing work.

  • Finishing my first book on kink and alternative sexual lifestyles and relationships. This has been a passion project for about ten years where I have researched, interviewed, worked with and even explored various aspects I cover in the book. It was born out of need because when I was a fresh graduate starting out in private practice work I happened to have a couple come in to do work with me and they wanted to explore a 24/7 power dynamic and I was completely out of my depth. I tried to find resources and educational materials to help me understand these things but I struggled to find a resource that dove into all of the various elements of kink, sex and relationships dynamics that I wanted so I decided to write the book I needed and here I am ten years later finishing my final edits! I cannot wait to share this book with the world and I hope other therapists, helpers, healers and sexually open and curious folks will find it helpful, informative and inspirational.

  • The use of psychedelics and non-ordinary states of consciousness for healing, wellness, and growth. Plant medicines have long been utilized in indigenous communities for healing, insight, celebration, spirituality, and community cohesion but we, in the Western world are only just now coming back around to and recognizing what they have known all along- there is deep medicine in the earth, in Master plant teachers, in music, in ourselves and in each other. Because of my interest in these practices I am also recognizing the need to bring in and recognize Spirit in the healing process- we are not just a body and a mind. I believe Spirit must also be considered and brought into the healing process. I think it is disconnect from Spirit/Self that causes so much pain, illness and turmoil in our lives and that by learning from and bringing back in these sacred indigenous healing practices that we may be able to heal not only ourselves but the world.

  • I have always been passionate about the field of Mental Health, Psychology and Healing and Wellness Work and have always been inspired to want to contribute, give back to and help it move forward. Over the years I have taught Undergraduate Psychology helping to inspire and educate the future generations; developed and led workshops, trainings and support groups; am working on my professional book; have stayed on the cutting edge of new modalities and building my therapeutic tool box; have provided therapeutic content to organizations like, Moms on Maternity; have continued doing my own healing work; have stepped into the role of Clinical Supervisor, supporting the incoming therapists to the field; have developed and pitched a Supervision support app that I developed in collaboration with my husband and a team of other talented healers and therapists; and am currently working to develop a therapeutic cohort and nature based modality that is specific to folks utilizing plant medicines for healing. I want to leave a legacy of not only supporting those clients and Associates I work with but helping to shape the future of the field.

“Kacey has natural instincts that guide to impeccable ethics and beyond, that she leads with clinical ethical principles. Shoe holds those around her to those principles in the best way. She also understands the deep nuances of a scenario or individual experience and responds from a position of thoroughness and carefulness. With these, she’s prepared to support clinicians through cases and scenarios that for others, would be difficult to navigate. She goes directly to ethics and care intuitively. She holds deep regard for the human experience and embodies care and compassion for where someone is at, while holding space with an energy that beacons attention to the light at the end of the tunnel. She is ethical, attuned, patient, caring, joyful, and fun when appropriate. Working with her I feel seen, validated, understood, held in safety, nourished, guided and accountable.” – H.H.

  • First and foremost, care, compassion, and support of my supervisees and a passion for the work of therapy and therapist development. I care very deeply about mental health support, the field of psychology and how we, as mental health providers show up in this work. I believe in the value and importance of doing our own work, healing the healer and continuing to grow both personally and professionally and try to bring these elements to my supervisees both by modeling and encouraging those I work with to do the same. I believe we need more accountability, and integrity in our field in living the values, tools, and skills we are asking our clients to learn, expand into and utilize- we have to be willing to go down the same, scary, challenging, and unknown path we are asking our clients to go traverse. The old adage that “therapists are crazier than their clients” I believe comes from the decades of therapists not doing their own work, exploring their shadows, not feeling or working on their hard edges, not confronting their limiting beliefs, becoming jaded, not holding space for other people’s choices, beliefs and values and bringing in biases and many blind spots that have done a lot of damage and caused harm to clients over the years. These old ways of showing up have led to pathologizing, shaming and in many cases re-traumitizing the very people that have come to get help and support. In my role as a supervisor I place extra attention on exploring when, how, and if these client damaging elements are coming into the work and emphasize ongoing personal growth, healing and exploration with my supervisees.

Secondly, I place great care and emphasis on the supervision and therapeutic relationship. Rapport matters. A lot. So, in my role as a Supervisor, I focus a lot on our relationship- building safety, trust, consistency, attention, compassion, consideration and meet my supervisees where they are at while also challenging them to step into discomfort, trust their own instincts, learn to listen to their own intuition, practice skills, and view mistakes a part of the learning journey. I emphasize accountability and follow-through as well as modeling it. I want to ensure quality therapists come out of their work experience and have all of the skills and confidence they need to step into licensure and therapeutic work when they are done which means providing quality supervision through mentorship, exploration of boundaries, safety, ethics, healing the healer work, and supportive guidance, education/training opportunities and helping supervisees find work/life balance. I work hard in my role and in return I ask that my supervisees do the same but in return they leave their supervised experience with everything they need to step into any role with skills, confidence, and with a solid understanding of who they are as a professional and how to do the work well.

  • I have almost a decade of clinical experience across a wide array of settings and clients.

I have worked at a Hospice as a Grief & Bereavement Counselor providing end of life care to those on Hospice and Grief support to family and loved ones following their passing

I have worked for several years in a non-profit transitional housing program for un-housed youth who had aged out of foster care and were between 16-24 years old, many of whom were also young parents themselves. Working with this population meant I worked with CPTSD, victims of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation, substance abuse, violence, incarceration, and severe mental health issues.

I have advanced training in trauma informed care and working with crisis intervention, domestic violence, and sexual assault and abuse

    I have also worked in private practice and understand some of the challenginges of that work- marketing yourself, building your case load, finding your niche, dealing with challenging couples, families and clients, etc;

Another setting I worked for several years was as a College Counselor primarily working with student who have IEP’s and getting their accommodations sorted, helping them with time management, stress, imposter syndrom, depression, chronic pain conditions impacting their ability to function as well as providing monthly workshops and supporting some teachers and staff needing support for life issues.

Lastly, I have training and experience in holistic practices like Aromatherapy and Sound Healing and have worked as a Sex & Wellness Coach, Psychedelic Facilitator (with a church/non-profit), and now as a Ketamine Assisted Pscyhotherapy Provider in a private practice. Aside from my direct client work I also have a background in Education and have taught Early Childhood Education, taught and ran a tutoring program at a high school, and taught as Adjunct Faculty in the Undergraduate Psychology Department for a number of years.

I am passionate about healing work and education so Supervision was a natural next step for my career path and I have been happily doing this work for almost three years.

“I am Alive to learn and unlearn and unlearn and learn again. I am here to unpack and develop and understand the value in the struggle. I am here, and I am learning that this is a Big Thing.” – Brianna Pastor

Whispers: “Sister, can you hear it- the whisper, a deep rumble below the surface, an unshakable urge that something is missing? Do you hear it sister? The call to gather, to connect, to crate. You are a collective cocreatrix, born of fire and salt and moonlight, woven from the spiral strands of ancestral knowing. The only way to shift- to break the matrix- is to create. To return to the primal essence that pulses in our blood. To circle, to dance, to howl under moon-soaked skies. Through each other, we witness. We support . We hold and are held, in the sacred embrace of womankind. Reborn, we walk- not alone- but bathed in silver light, our dreams nurtured in the deep waters of our being. There, in the quiet tide, we remember- within our DNA spirals code of connection. Within our hearts beats the rhythm of creation. And so we rise- not as one, but as many braided into the sacred breath. Sister, can you hear it- the Wisper…” – By: Herbal Goddess Healing

“Kacey’s personality in a nutshell is one of magnificent depth. She tracks and uses practical and clinical information while operating from a well of compassion and diverse perspectives. She holds deep regard for the human experience and embodies care and compassion for where someone is at, while holding space and energy that beckons attention to the light at the end of the tunnel. She is strong beyond belief in so many senses of the phrase, and for clients in a way that they can bring anything to the table and it won’t alter Kacey’s unwavering presence, love and care. Kacey shows up in her work with clients with complete presence and diligence. She treats each person with dignity and respect. She holds a line of steadfast support for their current experience while calling them forward into their next small step of their healing progress without attachment to suffering or fear of destabilization by moving too quickly. She doesn’t have her own agenda, rather she operates objectively with a sense of the needs of the moment and an eye on the big picture. She brings a unique joie de vie that is palpable though unspoken and invites this in those that she works with. In her presence I and others feel seen. Absolutely seen. Validated. Understood and held in safety. Nourished. Guided. Accountable. She is ethical, attuned, patient, caring, joyful and fun where appropriate. She will laugh with you and cry with you and she shows up from a place of deep self-knowing which allows her to show up in an unwavering way. She infuses creativity, education and a love for learning and growing and does it all with a patience and simultaneous drive towards meaningful transformation for her clients.” – Feather
